International collaboration

With the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova and the German Federal Ministry of Health were held three Moldovan-German symposiums which were devoted to the actual issues in the TB control. The joint proposal for a grant to finance the didactical (educational) activities (lectures, seminars) in the microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, immuno tuberculosis was drafted and presented to the German Council of  Academic Exchange in June 2008. These activities were started in December 2008 and extended in 2009, 2010 and 2011 –a week in each semester. The didactic activities were organized by the Department of Pneumophthisiology  and Prof. Timo Ulrichs, the vice president of Koch-Mechnikov Forum. The Department of Pneumophthisiology participates in the preparation of the informational materials to promote the Republic of Moldova in Germany (preparation of the Guide initiated by Prof. Timo Ulrichs). With the support of Koch-Mechnikov Forum two representatives of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “N.Testemiţanu” attended the Summer School “Epidemiology of Infectious Disease,” which was held on September 7 to 12, 2009 at the School of Public Health, University of Bielefeld, Germany. The representatives of the Department participated with the annual reports in  the symposiums dedicated to the World Day in combating the  tuberculosis, organized by the Koch-Mechnikov Forum in Berlin.

Two collaborators of the Department – Stela Kulciţkaia, Assistant Professor and Alina Malic, university  assistent, benefited from internships in the clinics from Germany in March 2012. Between 19 to 23 May 2013, 4 representatives of the Department attended the Academy TBNET 2013 which was organized by the Tuberculosis Network European TBNET Trialsgroup in Chișinău.
